Wall Ties

Wall Ties

Cavity Wall Tie corrosion affects many properties throughout the UK, especially in exposed and coastal locations.

Victorian buildings (and older) are particularly prone to wall tie failure, resulting in elongated horizontal cracks to mortar joints.

The mild steel/iron ties embedded in to mortar when the property was built eventually start to corrode and expand.

When this corrosion advances sufficiently horizontal cracking occurs, causing damage to the brickwork and eventually loss of structural integrity.

With the use of a metal detector and an endoscope probe we can locate, and inspect the condition of the ties and provide a quotation for replacement and making good.
